What a week, dominated with Abby and hospital visits. The poor thing had a total of three admissions within 10 days and stayed for a total five nights. She is on the road to recovery now (touch wood), just building up her strength for school again.
It did mean a total rescheduling of life, for the second week in a row, as everyone rolled their sleeves up to help. Naturally this in turn had a massive impact on word count for this little side project of mine and, well, after four days this week it was looking pretty grim. I did manage a couple of strong nights at the keyboard to try to get things back on track.
In fact, Tuesday night was awesome – I smashed out 2k+ words and felt I would cruise home last night to make it a successful week. But Wednesday night conspired against me with random life stuff and I hit the wall at 625 – 230 words short of the weekly count. I could not muster the energy to get over the line.
So, for the first time in the challenge I have fallen short for a week. But I write this post damn pleased my daughter is home from hospital and pretty proud that I managed to punch my way out of trouble after a crazy and emotional start to the week.
