It’s been a while in the making, with other writing projects eating into the schedule, but the draft of Apocalypse 2 is finally completed. I’m in the process of doing a review edit now before sending it off to the beta readers for feedback. All should be ready next week for a beta read.
It’s been a challenging book to write, not only is there expectation from those who have enjoyed the first, but there is expectation on myself to grow the world, introduce new characters, keep the story authentic to the circumstances and give Jack plenty of challenges to nut his way through. I think I have it…. but I’m sure the beta readers will let me know if that is a delusion.
The book kicks off a couple months after the events that finished the first and Jack is not in a good way, physically or psychologically. He has to rebuild himself, then find himself a place in the new world. Food is growing ever scarcer, and the few remaining survivors will do anything to find and control what remains. If Jack is going to make it, he’ll need to use every bit of nous that has got him this far, as well as get his fair share of luck. The thing about the post-rock world is luck is a rare commodity.
New locations, new challenges, bigger stakes in a harsher world.
So excited to get some feedback.
Apocalypse 3
Oh, and rest assured Apocalypse fans, the next project after Apocalypse 2 is released, is writing the third instalment. I’m very conscious of the lag in getting this one out and I’m very keen to make amends. Thanks for your patience and hopefully you enjoy the next parts of the series as much as the first.
