Of all the cool things that have come out of my writing over the past few years, this would have to be close to the top of the pile. For those not in the know, audiobooks are an exciting and growing entertainment format and a great way to consume literature, especially for the time-poor amongst us. I love them (I can highly recommend Stephen Fry narrating The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) and find myself listening when going to and from work, going for walks – all the time.
When long time friend, Justin Braine (who happens to be one of Australia’s leading voice over artists) and I decided it was something we could join forces on, well, I couldn’t have hoped for a better result. Justin has taken my work and added a whole new dimension with his talents. He has brought Cooper, The Ginge, Knuckles, Pete and a galactic cast of aliens – good and bad – to life in ways I could not have imagined. I think we counted a total of 52 speaking parts – each voiced by Justin – amazing!
It’s something I’m so damn proud of and something I hope you’ll enjoy listening to as much as I enjoyed writing.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg as Justin and I, AKA, Zombie RiZing as we have joined forces with the awesome folk at Audible Australia and will be bringing you many more stories in the future (stay tuned for Scared to Beath).
More on all that in a future post… for now, sit back and enjoy the audiobook version of Kings of the World.
…Oh, did I mention Audible have a free trial option, so if you’re curious about this whole audiobook thing, you can sample Kings and see if it’s something that will work for you. I think you’ll be impressed.
