Wow, 17 weeks! I only just realised the challenge had been going that long when I looked up the stats to write the page title. That’s 1/3 of a year and 1/6 of the challenge!
I was really please this week I was able to work my way deep into the War & Quel manuscript. It’s such a good feeling coming out the other end of a real writing challenge, I’m sure there’ll be epic levels of satisfaction when I type the words ‘the end’ at some point next week. I guess the added bonus from all this heavy mental lifting is that I am not only resolving the story for book 2 in the Starship Dorsano series, I am also paving the path forward on future books. I guess that’s the thing that’s taken the longest. Finding the story for this book (and the stories for all the characters), not only as a stand alone piece of writing, but as a link in a chain going forward. Book 3, Revenge and Qualia, and the time it takes to write, will be the big winners.
I also had another good session on the sequel to Apocalypse: Diary of a Survivor. It’s great to be able to leap straight back into that story with the same amount of momentum I had finishing the first.
Anyways, onto the numbers.
